Membership and Events Assistant

Description:  The Membership and Special Events Assistant reports to and provides administrative support to the external affairs associate. This position is responsible for administrative tasks including: printing, mailing, and inputting of all-level membership’s into the database. This position also assists with coordinating specific aspects of social events, in a style appropriate to an artistic environment when interacting with guests. Duties include, but are not limited to: Interacting with guests, handling order forms, rental assistance, and recording accurate financial and personal information from the event for easy transfer to the database.

Hours:  This is a full-time, year-round, hourly position. Work hours are Monday – Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Extended hours, nights, weekends during Special Events.

Requirements:  Position requires the following: excellent customer service skills, a polished personal presentation; able to answer telephones using appropriate etiquette; computer knowledge including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); excellent overall business-level communication and writing skills. Must be detail oriented, able to handle multiple priorities and follow through with minimal supervision. Prior experience in membership database, event planning, and non-profit environment are highly preferred but not required.

The Hyde’s volunteers provide meaningful support to the Museum’s programming and activities. Volunteers make it possible for The Hyde to offer educational programming for students of all ages, plan exciting trips and social events, and deliver an exceptional experience to our visitors.

Volunteer Gardeners

Every other Monday, 8am – 9:30am
Call now to volunteer for the Spring!

We are looking for volunteer gardeners to help out in The Hyde Butterfly garden this spring. No experience needed. You will be working with others who will help you get started. Activities include maintaining the flower beds, weeding, and some watering. Please bring your own kneeling pad, gloves, bucket for weeds, a trowel, and a claw (hand cultivator).
