11 Sep Hyde’s van Gogh traveling south
The Hyde Collection has more than 5,000 works in its permanent collection, ranging from a fourth-century BC Greek sculpture to contemporary art. The Museum has loaned art to thirty-eight museums in fourteen states and eight countries.
Thomas Eakins’s portrait of Henry O. Tanner has logged the most miles. Auguste Renoir’s Coco was the most recent artwork to travel. In coming weeks, The Hyde’s lone work by Vincent van Gogh, Orchard with Arles in the Background, will be exhibited at the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina as part of Van Gogh and His Inspirations. The exhibition will run October 4 to January 12. Learn more here.
