'My Summer Place' Community Day at The HydeIncludes Free Admission to O’Keeffe Exhibition
Glens Falls, NY - The public is welcome to a free, fun-filled afternoon for the entire family at The Hyde Collection Art Museum, 161 Warren Street on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 12noon to 4pm.
See both exhibitions, Modern Nature: Georgia O’Keeffe and Lake George and Family Album: Alfred Stieglitz and Lake George, and the permanent collection in Hyde House at no charge on this special day. Tours of the O’Keeffe exhibition are at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 pm and Hyde House tours are ongoing throughout the day.
Other activities include art programs for all ages on the front lawn of the Museum and in the Art Studio; nature and conservation activities by Lake George Association; and a Georgia O’Keeffe “Apple Fever” fresh food activity with Chef Bruce Hoffmann.
At 1:30pm in the Froehlich Auditorium, see the film Alfred Stieglitz: The Eloquent Eye. This 90-minute 2001 PBS documentary looks at “The Father of Modern Photography” and includes a rare interview with Georgia O’Keeffe and other artists of their circle.
This day is part of The Hyde’s “My Summer Place” programming which are collaborative events and programs between The Hyde, Adirondack Theatre Festival, Lake George Association and Wiawaka in support of the exhibition Modern Nature: Georgia O’Keeffe and Lake George, which runs now through September 15, 2013.
