Hyde Hall & the Fenimore Art Museum
Cooperstown, New York
Thursday, June 6, 2013

Join Hyde members and friends for a day of historic, gustatory, and aesthetic pleasures. Begin with a tour of Hyde Hall, an architectural gem listed on the National Register of Historic Places; observe the ongoing process of restoration and learn about the fascinating history of the house. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the elegant Otesaga Hotel overlooking the shores of Glimmerglass.

Spend the afternoon at the Fenimore Art Museum exploring its notable exhibitions and galleries. By special arrangement, Paul D’Ambrosio, director of the museum, will present a gallery talk introducing an exhibition of works by members of the Wyeth family, including not only Andrew, his father N. C, and his son Jamie, but his sisters Carolyn and Henriette. The exhibition includes Andrew Wyeth’s watercolor, The Ledge and the Island (1937), purchased by Charlotte Hyde in 1948 and on loan from The Hyde Collection. At your leisure, browse through other exhibitions from the permanent collection, investigate the gift shop, or wander about the lovely grounds of Fenimore House.
