Tours for Tots and Baby Tots

Every Thursday, 10:30 – 11:30 am, and 3:30 - 4:30 pm. Free
Sessions are now open to ages 0 - 5 with adult companion. Specially designed program for 5 and unders to explore the museum with an educator and enjoy creative time in the art studio
ARTfull Afternoons - FREE
Will resume September 3, 2014
Wednesdays, drop in between 1:30 - 4:30 pm
Ages 5 - 14 with adult companion. Drop in, take a self-guided tour and then come make themed art in the studio. The theme changes on a weekly basis.
With the child’s age and interests in mind, Birthday pARTies include an I Spy tour or scavenger hunt in the museum and galleries followed by art activities in the studio, with time for cake and presents.
$10 per child for museum members, $15 per child for non-members

Sunday, June 8, Art on the Outside
Tour the sculptures outside (or inside if it's raining) followed by sculpture building activities in the garden or art studio.
Sunday, July 13, Magical Mysteries
Enjoy family and adult tours of the exhibitions Larry Kagan: Lying Shadows and Emerging from the Shadows: Edward Hopper and His Contemporaries, make art out of light and shadow, enjoy some music and magic for all ages!
Sunday, August 10, Light in August
Family friendly tours of the exhibitions, plein air painting with visiting artists through the day (all materials provided) on the museum grounds, workshops and activities for children of all ages.
Sunday, September 14, Summer Shadows
Closing day family friendly tours of the summer exhibition followed by summer memory art making in the studio.

For ages 6 – 12. Art activities conducted outside and in the art studio will introduce young artists to drawing, painting and sculpting techniques. Students may register for one or all sessions.
$45 Hyde members, $50 non members, per session
The Art of Magic
Saturday, July 26, 10:30 am – 4 pm
For ages 8 – 12. Young magicians will learn what it takes to fool the eye with simple close up tricks, and a few stage illusions with magician Alan Ekstrom. Participants will be ready to amaze their family and friends with a magic show at 3 pm.
Register by Wednesday, July 23; space is limited to 10 participants. $30 Hyde members, $40 non members
Shadow Puppet Theater
Tuesday, July 29 – Friday, August 1, and Tuesday, August 5 – Friday, August 8,
10 am – 2 pm
For ages 7 – 12. Play theater games, learn acting techniques, create character puppets, build sets, and perform live shadow theater with theater artist Johnna Maiorella!
Register by Wednesday July 23, space is limited to 12 participants.
