Igniting students’ enthusiasm for learning during their visits to Hyde Collection is just what Charlotte Hyde had in mind when she gave her home and art collection to the region as a museum in 1963. Students of all ages and abilities visiting Hyde House encounter historic architecture, interior design, and an extraordinary art collection while learning about the lives and times of the museum’s founders, Charlotte and Louis Hyde. The Hyde’s collection of furniture and original drawings, paintings, sculptures span over 2000 years of art and world history from ancient Greece to 20th century America. In addition, the continually growing collection and temporary exhibitions complement the collection and expand the possibilities for learning outside the classroom. Opportunities for creative learning at The Hyde are available to all ages and abilities.
